To celebrate Tamworth Heritage Weekend 2012, Tamworth Library will be opening specially on Sunday September 2nd from 12pm until 4pm.

Volunteers from a range of local and family history groups will be on site to chat about their organisations. These will include Staffordshire Regimental Museum, Staffordshire Archaeological and Historical Society, Tamworth Ancestral Rescue Group and Glascote and Wilnecote Family History Groups.

Tamworth Library will have a range of materials on view from it’s heritage collections, including maps, photographs, newspapers and various items from other collections. We will also be playing host to the wonderful William MacGregor bust, a carved likeness of the well known local philanthropist, Egyptologist and former vicar of St.Editha’s.

Library staff and volunteers will be on hand to offer help and advice and refreshments will be on offer throughout the day.
