Tamworth’s Bid For Portas Pilot Funding

Tamworth Borough Council is putting a application together to bid for up to £100,000 of ‘Portas Pilot’ funding to help improve the town centre.

12 towns across the UK will be chosen – and Tamworth Borough Council are hoping we will be one of them. The funding is part of the work that shopping and business guru Mary Portas did for the government on high streets.

Cllr Robert Pritchard, Deputy Leader of Tamworth Borough Council said, “This is a great chance to get more investment in Tamworth town centre. Everyone is working together to support our great town centre and we hope to be successful with the Portas polt bid. We are behind the town centre 100%.”

Tamworth town centre is to host several evenis shortyl including St Georges Day and the Olympic festival, more information is avaliable on Tamworth blog here.
