Mayor of Tamworth Cllr Lee Bates is urging poets and photographers to submit their entries for his Christmas card competition.  The deadline has now been extended to Thursday September 30, meaning people now have extra time to enter this year’s competition.

Cllr Lee Bates, Mayor of Tamworth, is looking for pictures and a verse to be printed on the Mayor’s annual Christmas card, which will be sent to hundreds of people, both here and abroad.

Cllr Bates is looking for photos and verses which represent Tamworth in both pictures and words.  There is a separate competition for the photography and also the poetry.  Asda is providing a photography hamper for the winning entries.  He said;

“I am looking forward to sending card out which showcase the wonderful talents of photographers and poets living in and around Tamworth and this competition is the ideal way to do it.

I am hoping we will get lots of entries which we will then display in the Town Hall for people to take a look at and cast their votes.”

Tamworth residents will have the chance take a look at the photos already received when they will be displayed in the Town Hall on the original advertised dates:
Saturday 25th September 9.30am – 3.30pm and
Tuesday 28th September – 10.00am – 3.00pm
No voting will take place on these dates.

Voting will now take place in the Town Hall on:
Tuesday 5th October – 10.00am – 11.30am and 2.30pm – 4.30pm and
Saturday 9th October – 10.00am – 1.00pm
People can also cast their votes at the town Hall on October 5
(10am – 11.30am and 2.30pm – 4.30pm) and on October 9 (10am – 1pm)
